The box of flakes went back upon the shelf.

The generic bag will have to do for now.

I’m checking the balance, hating my own self,

and wondering where the money went, and how.


Nineteen-ninety-nine for 'Premium Mind.'

An app I downloaded when I thought I’d change.

The 'Cancel' button is the hardest thing to find

when the password you picked feels so strange.


It's been eating my lunch for three months straight,

a digital leech I invited to the plate.
