Heavy Lid

The light is slicing through the venetian blind.

It hits the carpet like a yellow blade.

The clock says ten. I left the world behind

and let the heavy morning start to fade.

My phone is dark. The toggle switched to grey.

A bit of salt is crusted in my eye.

The service started miles and miles away

while I was watching dust motes cross the light.
