Words Unsaid

The text buzzes softly, a ghost from the past,

a fragile confession that trembles, aghast.

Too late to undo all the silence we shared,

your words paint the air with regret, laid bare.

How many times did I clutch my own pride,

while friendship withered, like leaves tossed aside?

Each word left unspoken, a weight in my chest,

haunting my thoughts with a bittersweet jest.

The paper crumples, like echoes of shame,

what once felt so solid now fades into flame.

And though I reply, it’s a drop in the sea—

the distance between us remains a decree.
