I found the candle tucked in a corner

I found the candle tucked in a corner,

its wax a memory of warmth,

waiting like an old friend,

for the moment I’d need it most.

I lit the wick, watched it bend,

as shadows licked the walls,

a soft, flickering glow

dancing to the rhythm of silence,

as if it knew my secrets,

those half-spoken truths

that stutter in the air,

while the room held its breath,

till the flame slowly bowed,

wax pooling like forgotten dreams,

melting, merging into night.
