Conduction

Six o'clock.

The insulation failed

around three.

The walls are hollow shells

holding onto the frost.

I swung my legs over the side.

The linoleum bit

straight into the bone.

Three grains of grit

stuck to my damp sole.

The floor is taking back

what the blanket gave.
