Radiator knocked all night

Radiator knocked all night.

Metal on plaster, keeping time.

We didn't get up to fix it.

We didn't get up for two days.

Saturday she shook my hand.

Two pumps. Introduced the partner.

Same hand, my sternum, three a.m.—

but that's another country.

The gallery was very well-lit.

I said nice to meet you

to someone I once knew by taste

and drove home with the heat off.
