Pavement Kiss

He stood there, shoulders hunched.

The way he chewed the air.

And then it came, un-flushed,

a sudden, wet affair.

A glob, thick, glistening,

arced out with sudden force.

On the cracked concrete kissing,

then leaving its dark source.

A stain that spread like shame,

a smell both sharp and foul.

He just kept on his game,

beneath the city's scowl.

No thought, no pause, no plea,

just expelled, raw and grim.

A sudden sovereignty

of what lies deep within.
