Silent Anchor

She rests heavy against my chest,

a small gravity tethered in sleep.

Her breath rises slow and steady,

a tide that pulls the air from my lungs,

soft and undeniable.

In this quiet hold,

everything sharp falls away—

the world pressed flat

beneath the steady weight of her.
