Bent but alive

In the corner, dust settles

on spines tipped sunburn red.

The cactus leans,

a crooked soldier against the glass.

No water, no fuss,

just a slow tilt toward light,

a stubborn life in neglect.

Each spine a small defiance,

a crooked arm reaching

past the thin film of dust,

persistent, flawed,

still holding on.
