Forgotten Transactions

Coffee stains curl like small, lost maps

on a crumpled slip of paper,

edges soft with time.

It holds the weight of a conversation

I never started—words left hanging,

a debt unpaid.

This tiny fragment, brittle with grease,

reminds me of seconds missed,

like coins slipping through fingers,

a quiet proof that some things

can’t be bought back.
