Immediate regret in shards

Fist meets phone, glass splinters,

a spiderweb caught in the cold palm.

Silence louder than the crash,

regret sharp like broken plastic.

Staring at the fractured face,

I wish for a rewind, a patch,

a fix to stop the sudden emptiness

that bleeds from the dark screen.

Rage burned quick —

now all that’s left is cracked regret.
