Shapes bleeding in steam

Peeling plastic clings,

floral shapes run like bruises in the mist.

Steam coils, thick and slow,

muddling the sharp edges,

a soft blurring that’s too tired to hold.

The curtain sways, a cracked skin,

catching water drops that stain and slide,

a slow dissolve of colors

fading into the gray of morning.
