Wrong Turn

The street names blurred,

a watercolor mess

under the sudden downpour.

I unfolded it on the curb,

the paper buckling,

the ink bleeding,

a soft stain spreading.

Familiar landmarks vanished.

Every corner looked the same.

I was standing still,

while the whole city

washed away.
