Rental Agreement

I woke up with a debt I didn't sign for.

My lower back is a hinge that needs oil,

locking up because I slept three inches

to the left of the center.

In the mirror, the pillowcase seam

has left a red canyon across my cheek.

It’s not my face anymore;

it’s just a house I’m renting

until the pipes finally burst.
