Relapse Logic

The neighbor cracked a tall boy.

I heard the aluminum give way,

that sharp clack-hiss

through the thin drywall.

Suddenly I was in my coat.

I didn't choose to stand up.

I am just walking toward the corner,

where the buzzing blue light

vibrates in the wet street,

telling me the store is open.
