Catching my arm in the mirror

Catching my arm in the mirror

reaching for the bulb in the hall.

The purple has leaked out of the center,

leaving a yellowing border,

the shape of four fingers

that weren't mine.

It's the last thing left of Friday.

The skin is healing in spite of me,

washing away the grip

until it's just a faint stain

like something spilled

and mostly scrubbed away.
