Another perfect square

Another perfect square

on the small glowing screen.

That particular shade of blue,

you know the one, that

artificial ocean. Too clear.

And the foam, so white,

on a glass nobody touches.

Just sitting there,

in the engineered light.

Everything aligned. No bad angles.

No smudged lenses, no

actual grit.

And I scroll past, my own plate

of cold pasta still waiting

on the counter, and think

what a clean life.

It’s a quiet ache, really.

No noise, just a slight pull

downward.
