Expired

I dug it from the drawer to see

the name my mother gave to me.

Ten years ago, the lens was kind.

I left that version far behind.


The microwave's dark, plastic door

shows me a face I don't adore.

The passport has a hollow glare.

The glass shows bags and thinning hair.
