Lonely Flame

In a dark room, the candle flickers low,

shadows stretch thin and slow.

Walls close in without a sound,

the flame alone, nowhere bound.

No voices to fill the space,

just the candle’s trembling face.

It burns for ghosts that used to stay,

waiting for dawn to take them away.

Silence bends, the wax runs deep,

the lonely flame won’t let me sleep.
