Trapped Light

A spiderweb stretched thin between posts,

sticky threads caught morning’s ghosts.

Dewdrops trapped like tiny stars,

a silent net of unseen scars.

I brushed it cold against my cheek,

a tug of silk, delicate and bleak.

Fragile prison, spun with care,

woven silence hanging there.

The light caught in fragile lace,

a captured moment I can’t chase.
