Borrowed stories, overdue

Between couch cushions,

a card slipped out,

faded like a ghost’s invitation.

Edges curled like tired pages,

colors drained by time and spills—

a fingerprint of old hope.

Once a key to every place

I could almost touch,

but now just weight

in a quiet room,

like a book unread,

a story lost on the shelf.
