Forgotten Prescriptions

Blue light scrolling, dense text swallowing me.

Names twist on the tongue—metformin, metoprolol,

words swimming like fish I catch then lose.

I read, then reread,

the warning signs, the doses,

till the screen blurs, the meaning slips,

a cycle I can’t break.

Each search a small confession—

I don’t remember what I need to hold.

The night hums quiet, restless,

a flicker of doubt in the glow.
