The Blanket's Whisper

I pulled it from the closet, dust motes taking flight,

and wrapped in its warmth, I felt the world ignite.

A faded quilt stitched in the stories of days,

where laughter spilled over like sunlight ablaze.

Remember that winter? Coffee brewing so sweet,

your smile held in seams, our hearts kept in beat.

The fabric still whispers of cedar and sun,

reminding me softly of when we were young.

Each patch holds a moment, a tender refrain,

a comfort in chaos, a balm for the pain.

In late light I settle, lost memories collide,

this blanket wraps 'round me, where love can abide.
