Search History

How many teaspoons in a tablespoon?

I type it in with fingers white with flour.

I’ve asked this glowing box the same old tune

every few months, almost every hour.

The link is purple, bruised from my own hand,

a sign I’ve been here many times before.

I cannot keep the facts upon the land

from washing out and sinking past the shore.

I swipe the screen and leave a dusty smear

that hides the answer that I came to find.

It’s a special kind of quiet, modern fear

to have a leak inside a person's mind.
