It buzzed for weeks a tiny sigh

It buzzed for weeks, a tiny sigh.

A hum that meant it would soon die.

Then just a click, a soft, quick pop,

and everything just had to stop.

The kitchen corner, black, complete.

A sudden dark, not bittersweet.

Just gone.

I climbed a chair, reached up to see.

A broken worm, just black debris.

The glass still warm, a scent of dust.

A thing that was, now simply rust.
