Half-Grid

Ink-stained grid.

Sunday paper, weeks old.

Some answers solid,

a confident stroke.

Others, just blank space.

A question mark

where a word should sit.

An empty arc.

The pen beside it, dry.

Uncapped.

A small ambition,

quietly sapped.
