Open Mouth

The wall plate, cream.

Two holes, dark,

like blind eyes.

Dust, a fine silt

on the lip of the screw hole.

Nothing fits.

It waits. A quiet

demand, or just

a space left open.

No current flows.

Just air, moving

around its absence.
