A Small Blue Spark

The air was dry, a desert sigh,

I stepped from the car, beneath a pale sky.

My fingers reached for metal, cold and slick,

and then a tiny, almost painful prick.

A flash, a snap, a silent, sudden sound,

as unseen power raced across the ground.

It made me flinch, a jolt right to the bone,

leaving my nerves feeling raw and alone.

Just a spark, a brief electric sting,

but for a second, it felt like everything

had changed, then snapped back into place.

A ghost punch, leaving no real trace.

Just the phantom ache, a small blue fright,

gone as quickly as the waning light.
