A Night Sweat

Woke up with skin

that felt too thin,

a slick, cold sheen

I hadn't seen.

The AC hummed,

a dull, numb drum,

but still the damp

clung to my lamp

of a body, slow.

Nowhere to go.

Just sweat, you know,

a silent flow,

not from a run,

but something done,

inside the skull,

making me dull.
