The floorboards creaked

The floorboards creaked.

A small foot slipped.

A wobble, then

a hand reached, gripped.

My finger, small

enough to hold,

a sudden weight,

a story told.

No loud cry came,

just quiet need.

A fragile trust,

a planted seed.

That moment stayed,

a clear, sharp scene.

The weight of life,

what it could mean.
