Your name here.

A plastic window, stiff and clear,

Held my name, so very near.

A smile was plastered, bright and fake,

For goodness gracious, for Pete's sake.

The lettering, a smudge of black,

No turning, no going back.

Just this small card, a pale decree,

Announcing who they thought was me.
