The First Glint

This morning I brushed, caught a glimpse in the glass,

a single gray strand where my dark locks amass.

It startled, yet somehow, it beckons me near,

like a note from a friend, bringing laughter and fear.

The past drifts like clouds through the chambers of time,

reminders of youth fade in a heartbeat’s climb.

With an old friend’s soft laughter still echoing clear,

I embrace the silver, my life’s tapestry here.
