The Unveiling

In the office glass, I see a smile rehearsed,

like a show on the stage where the lines are dispersed.

A question arises, and my confidence wavers,

who am I really beneath all the favors?

Behind all the layers, I feel the divide,

a curtain of silence, emotions collide.

A mask I have worn, but at what heavy cost?

when the self I perform feels so hopelessly lost.
