Inconvenient Revelations

Coffee spills out, a stain blooms wide,

a map of my chaos, I cannot abide,

a meeting unfolds, silence swells thick,

my heart races fast, like a clock, like a tick.

Laughter erupts, bright shards in the air,

a contrast to heat that ignites my despair,

yet something within me begins to deflate,

as I chuckle along with the cruel twist of fate.

What’s shame but a veil, a shield we must wear?

I smile through the laughter, unguarded, laid bare,

a moment that binds us, unites and entwines,

as we all trip through life, spilling our lines.
