I sift through the memories each jingle a song

I sift through the memories, each jingle a song,

The dog tag shines bright, but the silence feels wrong.

Once filled with laughter, now echoes of pawprints,

Moments of joy lost in the mundane hints.

Engraved on the metal, a name I can’t speak,

Each letter a heartbeat, my heart feels so weak.

Loyalty captured in a glint of the light,

Yet here in this absence, I ache through the night.
