Before We Met

An old photograph slips from the pile,

their gaze catches mine—unexpected smile.

Faded edges curl like secrets untold,

in sepia shades, memories unfold.

Eyes steady, familiar, yet strangers apart,

a snapshot of time, a ghost in my heart.

The world in that moment, a canvas they drew,

frame holding silence, a glimpse into blue.

What stories they carry, where have they been?

In that captured moment, life’s pages spin.

Before I knew them, a life full and bright,

a stranger’s reflection igniting the night.
