Memories in a Drawer

While searching for batteries, I dug deep,

through a mess of old bills and forgotten scraps,

there it was, a chipped toy, bright once, now pale,

a dinosaur, plastic and faded, a relic of youth.

It sparked memories of laughter, bright summer days,

a time when life was simple, unfurled like a map,

now tucked away, lost beneath dust and time,

it brings a smile, tangled with the dust,

a reminder that joy, once vibrant and grand,

could fit in the palm of my hand, lost but still found.
