Fractured Light

In late afternoon light, I catch a glimpse,

of my collarbone stark, a delicate prince.

Framed in the fabric of an unworn shirt,

it glistens with echoes, a treasure, a hurt.

The sun strikes silver against my bare skin,

like whispers of moments, the places I've been.

A glimmer so soft, yet edged with the past,

a reminder of fragility, forever cast.

It bears the weight of the world’s quiet fight,

and glows in the shadows, a fractured light.

Caught in reflection, I see more than me,

I see all the stories a body can be.
