Fleeting Tension

A snap in the silence, it fractures the air,
a rubber band taut, fraying, laid bare.
Papers scatter, like thoughts on the run,
chaos unleashed, where order was spun.
This small little thing, holds moments so tight,
in a world of distractions, it slips from my sight.
Yet in that small tension, a lesson unfolds,
about grip and release, and the stories it holds.
What bounces back true, can snap with a force,
but in the small break, I find my own course.
Life’s rubbery stretches remind me I bend,
in fleeting tensions, I find strength to mend.
