Bittersweet Reminiscence

Flipping through pages, old photos delight,
a smile creeps in, as shadows take flight.
Moments like honey, sweet on my tongue,
a laugh from the past, like songs left unsung.
But there, in the frame, a face twisted tight,
memories sour, in the dimming light.
A spilled drink stains a moment once bright,
what once felt like warmth now echoes of fright.
I linger in nostalgia, yet it holds a knife,
what’s cherished and lost threads the fabric of life.
