Forgotten Pages

Dust on the cover, a bookmark pristine,

a year drifts by—what was once routine.

Flipping through pages, the stories stand still,

a moment of panic, a heart on the hill.

How long has it been since I lost that embrace,

the joy of a tale, the thrill of a chase?

A crispness forgotten, worlds now closed tight,

the weight of unwritten, lost in the night.
