Fragments of Dreams

Two strangers, voices low, share a slice of fate,

cutting through the chatter, their dreams, intricate.

Like shards of glass, sharp and beautiful, bright,

they speak of places, of reaching for light.

I sip my coffee, steam curling in the air,

eavesdropping on wishes, trapped in the snare.

Their laughter like music, a tune in my chest,

a blend of ambition and fear, at their best.

“What if we took flight? What if we believed?”

the air thick with longing, both fearful and grieved.

I smile at my cup, my world small and tight,

but their dreams hold the promise of stars in the night.
