First Impressions of Intoxication

A sticky counter, tequila spills low,

colors burst alive, a wild, drunken show.

In that dim-lit bar, laughter swayed,

spinning bright visions, as caution decayed.

The world spun around, like a dizzying dance,

words slurred and mixed, a chaotic romance.

Freedom ignited in the fire of my cheeks,

youth unfurled in the blur of the peaks.

Underneath neon lights, I felt so alive,

the first taste of courage as secrets contrive.

But the dawn brought the weight of a heavy head,

a lesson in letting go, or so it’s said.
