A word hangs a specter in speech

A word hangs, a specter in speech,

whispers behind my lips, just out of reach.

Like ivy that clings to the walls of thought,

it writhes in shadows, a puzzle forgot.

Days stretch, unwinding the threads of time,

drowning in echoes, a muted rhyme.

A coffee cup waits, empty and still,

each sip a reminder, a heart unfulfilled.

Friend’s voice echoes, a title revealed,

sparks like lightning, too bright to shield.

But like a dream slipping from grasp,

I chase it in silence, unable to clasp.
