Shortened

I found a postcard from a decade back,

the ink was bold and the script was black.

The 'y' had a tail that would dive and then sweep,

like a secret I was actually intending to keep.

But the medical form at the clinic today

is covered in marks that have nothing to say.

My name is a line that is jagged and thin,

just a scratch on the surface to let the world in.
