Circle of a Breath

She blew a ring into the night air,

a pale, fragile loop wobbling like a whispered dare.

It hovered—a soft ghost between us—

then trembled, broke apart.

Cold air swallowed the circle whole,

vanishing in seconds,

lost like all the things we don’t say,

torn thin and scattered by the wind.

I wanted to catch it,

hold that delicate promise,

but the ring was only breath,

a moment, a silence,

slipping fast beyond reach.
