Crispy Basil

Another leaf.

Brown at the edge, curled tight.

Crispy.

This basil plant, they said,

'easy care'.

Supposed to be green, giving off good smell.

Instead it just sits there,

shriveling on the sill.

What's the point?

Another thing I couldn't keep alive.

Turning yellow.

Going to dust.
