Shattering Moments

Glass shattered on tiles, a sharp note of dread,

in that tiny silence, so many words fled.

The promise I held, now splintered like light,

fragments of whispers dissolve into night.

I kneel to collect them, but they slip through my grasp,

a reminder that nothing is safe in a clasp.

The edge of this moment, a cut to the core,

what breaks can be fixed, but what if there's more?
