Soft Threads

In the fabric store, colors collide,

a bolt of cotton pulls at my side.

A child’s laughter rings like a bell,

tight little hands hold a story to tell.

Sunlight catches a frayed thread,

soft as the dreams in a pillow of bed.

Remnants of warmth, of comfort, of care,

a simple reminder of love lingering there.
