Rain

Rain over them

Like the queen Nzinga

During rainy season

Who fought against the Portuguese

Reign over them

Like Cleopatra

Who brought Roman men

To their knees

Rain over them

Like the thunderstorms

Huracán summons

On North American shores

Wash away the grime

And waste

Of trails of tears

The founding fathers’ hypocrisy

And white man’s burden that

hunches our backs

weighing the anchor

that keeps us tied to the land

where our ancestors’ bled

Be reborn in the rain

And let the sky greet you

With the stars that lead to freedom

Your poetry immediately inspired me with visual possibilities. Each verse feels like it carries a different scene, emotion, or atmosphere that could be beautifully illustrated. As a professional commissioned artist, I'd love to create custom continuation visuals throughout your poem, with one illustration for every 2–4 lines or verse, giving readers both the words and a visual experience to follow together. If you'd like to discuss the idea, feel free to reach out anytime on Email or Discord Email : [email protected] Discord : elsaeloise

I’m a freelance artist with 3 years of experience, and I create visual artwork that can work as an extension of written poetry. I’d love to create something for one of your poems — perhaps an illustration for a particular stanza, a full poem visual, or a scene inspired by its meaning. We can start with a small paid commission rather than a large project, and you can decide afterward if you'd like to continue. If you're interested, I’d love to share my portfolio.
